I know I shouldn't feed the trolls, but I have got to say it:

For anyone thinking that the narrator is saying that we are at the center of the supercluster, even given your confusion about the difference between plot origin and anthropocentric origin, you clearly did not finish the video. The video reaches its conclusion around 6:35 when it outlines what ACTUALLY is observed to be the Laniakea Supercluster, in which we are very clearly not at the center, nor the origin for that matter.

To the fantastic men and women who contributed to this research, keep up the amazing work.

Such a polished presentation.
And the content is beyond description, enjoyed this watch.

Mad just - just MAD to contemplate the insane distances involved. Feels like I'm suddenly party to special kind of knowledge - I'm not telling anyone - let them watch the Kardashians.

Truly a beautiful video. The music paired along with it makes me want to cry because it's beautiful to understand our universe

This is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring things I've ever seen. Please accept my thanks and convey them to your team as well.

I've seen stills taken from this but this is the first time I've seen this much of the presentation. Extremely well done, and for me at least, this clarifies my understanding, thank you.

SPECTACULAR-!!!
The simulation shows recycling of the materials of the galaxies, flowing into the "great attractor", in a curled path, almost like a separate circuit, with adjacent super clusters representing another circuit, while perhaps the different circuits are getting recycled in yet bigger cycles.
This simulation is sure to trigger new theories of celestial mechanics-!!!

We live in the center of a torus floating on an ocean of dark matter fascinating. Reminds me of the earths electromagnetic field. The symmetry is so astounding. All this galactic energy is attracting and combining looking forward to more theories and discussion!

I just wanted to bip online here to say how much I really enjoyed your presentation. I've see multiple 2D maps of the Laniakea Supercluster, and the filaments from the other Superclusters, but your presentation really made this "neighborhood" much clearer. I'd read your paper on Nature, but I'm on strict instructions not to spend money this close to the Saturnalia holiday season.
Personally am studying theoretical physics (which means I get to play with all the toys in the toy box), and my first Bachelor's degree was in chemistry/math, but I got my M.S. in molecular biology, so I'm coming to physics kinda bass ackwards. I'm having to do a lot of catch up in astrophysics is something I'm putting an emphasis on. I found your presentation to be very clean and informative, so thank you for that.
If you have a presentation making Lie Algebra more understandable, give me a shout.

Does it surprise anyone that we are located on the edge of two opposite cosmic flows. It's possible, from this video, to imagine that we could be pulled by one flow during a certain period of time and position in relation to our galaxy, then for the flow to switch, depending on the strongest attraction. Almost feels like a laboratory experiment. Yin and Yang

I have this printed on my desk; our laniakea; I say to my collegue who asks whats that: I tell him; thats where we live we are about here (dot at our local cluster)

Response: yeayea, ...

I wonder if our galaxy has been less perturbed during its evolutionary history as a result of being in a "quiet backwater" far from the largest mass of galaxies?

You used a coordinate system in which Milky Way is vertical. But in many other system it is drawn as horizontal. Which is the standard galactic coordinate system? I saw many variations of these maps on the internet but I don't understand.

I'm sorry but how can anyone say the universe is flat? The structure looks pretty damn spherical like magnetic force lines radiating around a central object.
