The current software approach is not innovative at all for the ultimate purpose of NFV.

The concept of integrating the equipment that has been in operation so far does not create innovation.
There's still nothing clear about standardizing it on a software basis.
The story of SDN and NFV came out in 2010 or so, and we still don't standardize, because in the end, companies are in a state of confusion and don't understand the clarity of technology.
