Our Little Sister Official Trailer 1 (2015) - Hirokazu Koreeda Movie HD

"Our Little Sister," directed by internationally acclaimed director Hirozaku Kore-eda, is adapted from Yoshida Akimi's best-selling graphic novel "Umimachi Diary." Three twenty-something sisters—Sachi, Yoshino and Chika—live together in a large old house in the seaside town of Kamakura. When they learn of their estranged father's death, they decide to travel to the countryside for his funeral. There they meet their shy teenage half-sister Suzu for the first time and, bonding quickly, invite her to live with them. Suzu eagerly agrees, and begins a new life with her older sisters.

I just finished this film literally 5 minutes ago. It's now one of my favorite films of all time.

Calm and understated but emotionally mature and powerful. When it was over I was sad because I could have spent a lot more time with them.

Koreeda is such a good filmmaker. I loved this one even more on repeated viewings. The dialogue is really great. At the end it feels like there is a unique and developed relationship between each sister and even some of the lesser characters as well, which really shows how well-written it is.

As if you needed another reason to watch this, the score was composed by Yoko Kanno, who's most famous for writing music for Cowboy Bebop and being a goddamned musical badass.

I watched this with my mother, I felt really sad because she didn't like it because it was "too simple with no major events". I disagree.

This was so beautiful I felt nostalgic when it ended and kept on watching even after the movie credit appeared 💜! Highly recommend.

Hirokazu Koreeda is one of my favorite Foreign Language film directors. There's also Chan-Wook Park, Pawel Pawlikowski, Bong Joon Ho, and many many others.

I used to hate drama movies cause it always leaves a kind of bitterness, and emptiness for several days after watching it. But for this one, who knows how many times in this week I keep watching it over and over again. There is something in this masterpiece that makes me feel like coming home every time I watch it. And I always want to feel this home again, and again.

This movie “Our Little Sister” is not only my favorite but the best movie I ever saw. My criterion for good movies is how a movie withstands
repeated viewings. From that point of view, this is really the best movie for me. I have a DVD of this movie and saw it at least more than thirty times. The direction is good. The script is exceptionally good. The actors, in particular, the four sisters, are all good. The music and photography are also good. I would like a lot of people to watch and appreciate the  excellence of this movie. My highest recommendation for this.

These are four of the most adorable young women ever put on film. I tried to get a friend of mine to watch it with me, but she angrily said: "I'm not watching anything with subtitles!" It didn't take me too long to realize that she didn't deserve to see it in the first place. She asked me if I had a John Wick DVD. I didn't.

A few words about how I felt while watching this film: beauty, simplicity, daily little joys and pleasures, family, familial bonds, spring (I could almost _smell_ the sakura blossoms during the bicycle scene at 0:58 ), grief, heart, love <3 Thanks for all the beauty Hirokazu-sensei

When the four of them do sparklers together, I came close to losing it; but at the climax, when they are walking and talking on the beach, and the end credits start to roll, and then the screen goes black; I totally lost it.
