I bought SNES at launch in August 1991, and was overwhelmed by great games, especially ActRaiser and Final Fantasy II

This was a beautiful retrospective. I think what brings us back is that classic controller and the game library. That sense of familiarity and memories of the classic games also play a part.

The SNES had a safe feature! i use to carry a small note pad in my shirt nerd pocket & it was full of different save codes from different games! My favorite one was Super Castlevania 4 as it had the coolest picture design code in my opinion of course! SNES also introduced Mode 7, which changed game play forever! SNES also helped boom the Game Boy Game by putting out a Cartridge to play Game Boy Games for those people who wanted to play the games on the big screen! Now your Playing with Power!

I love how a lot of this video can also be said of the Genesis/Mega Drive.

You earned my sub and like! Amazing channel and content! The SNES has always been and will likely always be my favorite console of all-time. All my personal favorites are there, and so many others are even porting NES games to the SNES with enhanced soundtracks! But my favorites are Earthbound, Super Mario World, Mega Man X, Star Fox, DKC, Chrono Trigger, and Kirby's Dream COurse. SO many amazing memories playing these games--and I still repeatedly revisit them nowadays.

Awesome video!

The UK had a pretty small console market until the 16-bit era. Home computers were more popular in the 8-bit days. The SNES/Game Boy era was when Nintendo really cemented their place. I still play both to this day... but Sega were the biggest winners here. The Mega Drive outsold the SNES almost 2:1.

It's just a great system. And its best game and even the controller still hold up exceptionally well even today. That's the measure of timeless greatness.

Super Mario World remains my favourite game of all time to this day. And many other titles are just bona fide classics that are as good as any game.

All I want for SNES now is a lot more modern homebrew games to be released for it on a regular basis to continue to keep the system alive today.

Hopefully the upcoming release of "SNESmaker" will encourage more SNES fans to actually try their hand at creating new SNES games themselves. :)
