Building a Tiny Home... on WATER. 🏠🌊 the journey continues!

& on the 12th day...the Outlaw Builders said, "Let there be ROOFING!" 🛠🤘 This week on our brand new floating cabin build, we've got interior walls going up, roof metal going on, & a front porch being built! Incredible progress as always, & we are enjoying each day of this unique tiny house building journey.

I love the black roof. Very classy. I have the same roof on my garage which was built in 1991, in white. It didn't start rusting until 2013 and I've only had 3 leaks. Of course up here in Washington everything rusts eventually. I painted it with rust converting primer and a good top coat and that has held up for about 5 years. A lot less weight than asphalt and it's better for lower slope roofs like yours. I would replace it with standing seam if I could afford it but this will probably last till I'm gone.

I was really excited to see you had posted another update of your build and it looks GREAT the black roof is going to make a wonderful contrast for the white house ... thank you for the update.

Depending on your solar inverter/charger you might want to keep an eye open for USED solar panels to put on the main roof in the future. Being tilted the "wrong" direction they won't add MUCH but every little bit would help. Plus, they'll help keep the summer sun from beating directly on the roof. The house is really taking shape nicely!
