What? Your nose runs in the cold 'cause "basilia cells" turn off? I can't find any reference to back that up, just that your nose runs in the cold 'cause cold air can't hold as much moisture as warm air, and since cold is usually also dry, your mucus membranes make more wet stuff to hydrate the air going into your lungs (and to keep sinuses from drying out/cracking/bleeding).
