This is a pretty common sight around here... I once visited my wife's workplace in a remote area of Uttar Pradesh, where she teaches, and came across a massive cobra. Naturally, I was concerned and asked the locals about it. To my surprise, they were quite pleased with the cobra's presence, explaining that it helps control the rodent and pest population!
