A Chevy S-10 With A Story To Tell

In this video I have a look at a customer's "new to him" 2001 Southern Chevrolet S-10 4.3 with a manual trans. He has been trying to fix the P0135 that keeps popping up. We fix it no problem but looking things over it appears there is more of a story to tell. Sure wish cars could talk.
-Enjoy!

Thank you so much for the support!

You fixed it and didn't drain his wallet. You are a true master of your craft.

Eric's entitled to his opinion until Mrs 'O' tells him otherwise, 😉😉

With the age of the truck and the number of miles on the odometer, the law of diminishing returns dictates that your fix for the O2 sensor wiring was spot on!

I'll take clean, rust free over snow, ice and salt carnage. Come to think of it, I've never heard anyone say they are going to retire and move north, but I guess I should never say never! Thanks for another great video, Eric!

I still chuckle at Mrs. O's comment about "it's old, it only has like three wires, right?" from a previous video.

Full time professional Auto Tech from the South. I’d say there’s nothing wrong with that fix. We fix northern cars here, and our method is to find a good spot on the frame, grind it, install new eyelet ground, and then spray a few coats of clear coat. Love the channel!

had an 83 s10 blazer; loved changing the oil... reaching through the wheelwell unscrew the sideways filter and dump oil all over the suspension. Genius engineering.

Nothing wrong at all with that repair, saving people money at the same time is just a bonus.

I had a 1991 Nissan pickup that I bought new and kept for 20 years. About 15 years after I had bought it, the oil light came on and it was determined that it was a wiring issue. I spoke to the mechanic and he said that it would probably take several hours to find the wiring problem. I asked him if he could run a separate wire, and he said that he could, but would prefer to find that actual wire issue. I asked him to run a separate wire, which was quick and easy, and it worked perfectly. Given the age of the vehicle, it seemed to be the logical option.

Eric: The way you fixed the ground problem was a smart way to do it. You got a proper ground and saved the customer a bunch of money!

Absolutely the right fix, given the patient you were working on.

Eric is the one I started watching when I started doin my own car work... I use to go to garages and pay way too much but I had a throttle problem in my g6 and Eric helped me figure it out and since then I've done brakes/ rotors/ distributors/ tie rods etc... i went from borrowing tools to having my own abundance of tools... thanks eric
