As Europe’s largest auto-maker, the Volkswagen Group has big electrification plans, including an entirely new family of battery-electric vehicles from 2020 and a commitment to net zero emissions by 2050.

In Australia, the German auto giant’s EV rollout will be much slower, thanks largely to high demand in markets like Europe, China and the US for vehicles like the Volkswagen ID.4.

The small battery-powered SUV, which is claimed to deliver a driving range of 500km-plus and the interior space of the larger Volkswagen Tiguan, will be the first VW EV to arrive here – but that’s now not expected to happen until late 2023.

Do you have any news on when the Corolla Cross is coming? We've put off our next car purchase until it arrives.

2023! Might as well be next decade really. They will loose the race with the Korean manufacturers beating them to market here.

I am sure VW should be watched closely, so, they won’t over report the mileage estimates like they did with diesel fuel consumption! :D

What a waste of time! Release videos on cars we can get in AUS now, not in the never never. Let the yanks iron out the (many) bugs over the next few years
