I enjoyed all of the video but the #1 reason shown in the video in my opinion was particularly true. Horses will never see us as a horse or part of their herd, it is more unique and special than that. I think the horses we have understand an unspoken contract between us that they will be loved, cared for and comforted by us and they in return will do what we would like to do (such as riding, competitions etc). The most wonderful part, and I don't think non-horsey people realize this sometimes, is that when the horses are fulfilling their part of the unspoken contract, more often than not with the right rider and environment it isn't a chore at all - they are really enjoying it too.

I grew up an urban kid. I have never ridden a horse. However, have been transfixed by any image of a horses since childhood. I grew up in the 60's, I was drawn to westerns mostly due to their inclusion of horses. In many cases, I watched the horses more intently than I watched the actors As a teen I had the wonderful opportunity to work at a zoo became acquainted with many animals but still none captured my imagination and fancy like the (absent) horse. It wasn't until my late teens that I found out that my name "Phillip" Translates to Lover of Horses.

I must have been bourn with a love of horses. My mom told me that when I was a toddler I looked out of a window and saw a horse pulling a wagon. I said oh mommy isn’t he beautiful. Well it turns out that poor old horse was old and worn out but to me he was beautiful. After taking riding lessons as an adult I was finally able to buy a horse of my own. That was the happiest time of my life.

I know why I love horses because they're so beautiful and some so gentle. Plus I used to ride them for therapy and ride them in shows :). See I'm disabled and this was one of the many things I loved growing up. We never owned a horse but knew some people who did and as I grew older and continued riding in shows (Till I was 8) my love of horses grew too.
