if they have trouble keeping their scopes in batteries look up Kentil brand they are rechargeable and last 100 times longer than AA batteries in my thermal scope, you need to buy the charger for them as they don't recharge like normal rechargeable batteries. they are expensive but instead of lasting 20 minutes they last hours and hours easily a day's shooting from one charge, which translates to less weight in your packs
