About OFF GRID with DOUG and Stacy
In 2010 we decided to sell everything and build a log cabin on 11 acres. We have lived in the log cabin for a decade now with no solar power or wind power plus zero public utilities. We live like the pioneers except in the 21st century. We post videos on social media to encourage people to return to the land and make a living with your family. We teach folks:
*Off grid living *Rain water catchment *Cooking with wood
*Food growing *Cooking from scratch *Raised bed gardening
*Food harvesting *fermenting the harvest *food preservation
*Holistic Remedies like Grandma made *How to make money and live this life
*storing food in a root cellar *DIY Build projects
*Animal Husbandry *Raising Chickens, Guinea, Turkeys and Ducks
All of our videos are made to empower you to break free and LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!

We live on top of a mountain and when the artic freeze came through, I felt a sense of pride looking at my four children tend to the animals and bring in firewood in -15° weather. I smiled at my husband and told him that we’re giving these kids the gift of GRIT. Something priceless and rare these days

This is amazing! My landlord is Amish and his horses are watered off of our well. But his house is totally separate, even though we are neighbors. I thank God for him and his family because we were one of many who applied for the house we are in. We had no credit because we lived without debt for so long that there was no report to show on record. Our son was having a hard time with the neighborhood boys and I couldn't keep him around that area any longer! I went to my husband and explained what was happening, and we decided to pick up and leave right then and there. I prayed and prayed and this man, by the grace of God, gave us a chance despite not having that credit score he was looking for. And we've been here now for almost 6 years! I say this because we live in a place that does not offer "normal" typical conveniences. We do things by hand, we live very frugally, but in spite of it all, your videos make me SO PROUD of where we are!! God puts the Word in front of us to remind us of our salvation. He also puts people in front of us to remind us of our blessings. YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE :)

Been doing plumbing for 30+ years and am impressed with your design and fabrication skills. simple yet effective. you do your homework and I like the way you didn't take the easy way out on stuff like the shower head. self reliant folks like us will be the ones that survive and thrive as society implodes. well done Master Homesteader, as always, God Bless !!

Yes, sadly I won't have a REAL homestead but my beautiful self will work hard and grow as you've taught me . God will give a harvest and my plate will not be gov filth food. Thank you much

Just went off grid a couple months ago. I have to say it is the hardest thing I have ever done. Learning a lot from you guys. Thank you.

Amen! Everyone needs grit. Anyone who has enjoyed camping and had to figure out and experience what life is like without electricity and dishwashers, has had a taste. It's a great eye opener for these newer generations that can't put their phone down. Love your channel Doug and Stacey.

You two are an inspiration. I've been forced to learn to live alone on a very tight budget after surviving two brain tumors and a tumultuous marriage. The best thing I ever did for myself was divorce and learn to love myself. Since then, I've taught myself to garden, can and prep. I've downsized to a 1 bdrm. Someday, life will be easier. I have faith and endurance. Only the strong survive.

Living off grid definitely seems to have it's advantages. You can do things your way instead instead of having building inspectors scrutinize your every move or paying a for a permit to make the smallest changes. You can't sneeze in my town without the gov't wanting to regulate it somehow. You guys are living the life most of us wish we could. Hope you have many happy years ahead.

Doug and Stacy: My great grandma used to heat the water on top of the wood stove in a large teapot, then pour that hot water into a small metal tub (that had cold water in it), stirring the water in the tub with her hands until the cold water was warm enough for bathing - but not too hot. Worked super good and if we needed more hot water she just kept the teapot going on the wood stove. Such great memories.

Doug, you done a awesome job on the water system! It humbles me to see all your hard work pay off! When you keep yourself connected to earth it brings a-lot of joy, and peace!
I’m currently re watching alot of your videos and taking notes on your water catch system and researching what I’ll need to do to make the transition to rain water easier.
I’m sorry there are people out to get you all, it’s sad to see people like that. Continue to be yourself and what you stand for. God is with you all, and the demons will take there selves out. Thank you for all your free knowledge.

My husband hS been talking to me about going off grid with our family of 5 for several years now but the the thought of living with no utilities was scary and overwhelming. I was skeptical until I started watching your channel. You guys are so good at teaching and sharing what you have learned with others
You inspire me to keep prepping and learning a little bit at a time how to become more self sufficient and more self reliant. Thank you. I realize now that we can do it.

Hi Doug. If you have pvc or abs pipe in your grey water system don’t put the heated water from your wood water heater into it. It will expand and contract the pipe to the point of pulling the joints apart. You folks are inspiring. Have a great day

I’ve wanted to go off-grid for awhile now. You and Stacy are providing a lot of information to those of us who are pursuing this life style. I wish I would have done this 20 years ago. After looking for more than two years we finally found a three acre property. It has two wells, 5 old septic tanks, four homes, a store, and four outbuildings all in disrepair. It’s hard to work this hard at our age but it’s worth it to get away from the evil system. We can’t wait to learn all you have to offer. Thanks Doug and Stacy.

I admire what you two have done over these last 14 years. If only we were 30 years younger!

This was such a great video! We have an RV on 10 acres without utilities. We are trying to get it set up for off grid living. You are teaching us so much! We want to pass these skills onto our 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great Grandchildren. Our growing family NEEDS to learn these important skills for what's coming at us! 🐝

Thank you for all your help . My wife and I started watching your videos about 5 years ago, and that's why we decided to do a life change. I was already retired, so we pulled the pin and started our journey. We have been living off the grid for 2 years now, and we couldn't be happier .we moved from Charleston, SC, to the middle of Tennessee. Nice and quiet. Thanks again.

It's a beautiful life to live simple and the work involved to get set up is worth it. I grew up in a family of 14 plus Mom and Dad and we worked hard on the farm. We picked corn by hand as kids with each of us taking 3 rows, dug potatoes, washed our clothes on a wringer washer and hung them outside to dry. I would not trade that childhood for anything. That life taught me to work hard. Thank you two for sharing your life with us.
