When I first got tinnitus, it was a kick in the pants that the clock is ticking and I need to enjoy my hearing while it mattered. Went out and got quality equipment and a 24bit capable DAC and amp. Yes there is a difference, it's enough to bring a tear to the eye if the music is right for it. Worth paying a dollar to get that experience before you die.

I don’t see your video on converting tar files. I have decent system. I’ve been using ITunes as my Roon. Ripped CD’s and some AAC purchases. Im still one that likes to buy and support the artists. I can buy the ITunes AAC so I own it. When playing back Apple Music sends it CD quality. What’s your opinion on that as far as to save money, own and have a higher res playback

So help me out Steve, just to be sure I am not missing something. I went to Q-bz and skipped the "join" section and went straight to the store. I am appalled at the prices I see there in general. I can buy a cd elsewhere for less than what they are charging for either cd or d/l. I'm not against paying more for better but some of those d/l prices are ridiculous...and if those are the "competitive prices" it is no wonder why I buy physical media and just rip what I want to a server ( aka, MY library). I can always sell my cds if I end up shy on space. ( but doubt I would 😁)

For most people, that is a null point, though. Few people have studio-quality speakers - and most people probably have like a <$100 Logitech PC speaker setup.

There are so many decent speakers out there you could bring a laptop and adapter to test out, everybody should have some if they love music; If you do find those great speakers, you are wasting their life NOT playing lossless audio! The reason i disliked Jazz and classical for so long was BECAUSE I wasn't listening lossless before! There is so much value we miss in genres we never cared about before because of that flat sound we get used to.
