I think the 2nd one is vinyl, it has a more saturated presentation in the lower frequencies something I associate with vinyl.

Vinyl has a slight chorus/wavy vhs type effect that i really enjoy

Even with terrible in ear phones, I can tell. The vinyl has more overall tonal balance. The stream is just thin. Streaming’s ok in a pinch, but I’m going to put a record on and listen to it over ANY stream.

Stream is screaming with balance moved to hights and vinyl is fuller (warmer) for me lot better, sorry digital guys. And Kronos TT is really something! Thanks a lot for this comparison Jay!❤

so here is the thing: one is the signal going straight from the source to a power amp to the speaker, right? and the other one is a whole chain of different components that all have a strong impact on how the sound comes out.
even using a eliptical needle vs a spherical needle makes a huge difference. changing only one of these components can make this comparision obsolete.
after all it doesn't matter anyway.

Yep. I like the first sound clip. I’m assuming it was streaming each time afterwards I liked going back to the clip that started this video off.

Just listening on my phone, I would say 1 streaming (more forward mids/highs), 2 vinyl (I prefer 2). But wihout being in the room hard to tell what the soundstage is doing ...which is probably more pinpoint with streaming. Thanks for the demo

Yes, the first more dynamic one is vinyl and the second more compressed on is streaming

Yes, vynil is more warm and natural, 1st was streaming, second was vinyl

I think the first one (A) is vinyl and the second one is stream.

The streaming one is more compressed, bringing the bass and high frequencies up in level because the transients have been knocked off

The vinyl sounds quieter because the dynamics haven’t been squashed.

Most people will think B is better because the average volume is louder.
