Does putting the Canon 50mm 1.8 with the Sigma MC-11 Adapter on the Sony A7iii suck?

Debating on whether to go sony native or buy the mc-11... Do all the AF sony features such as eye af and animal eye work with the canon 50mm? On the fence on getting the Sony 50 but I hear the AF is bad in that. Thanks!

Im using the mc-11 on my A7-III and the auto focus works just fine in video with my canon 50mm 1.4 usm.

The mc-11 actually is built to support af in video with sigma lensens. I use it with the 18-35 on my a6500 and i works really well. In photo mode is perfect. Cheers!

Hey. I adapt Canon lenses to my A7III too with the MC-11. Now, I sold my Canon 50/1.8 II because I need AF-C, and that lens only worked well in AF-S. AF-C was quite hit and miss. It does appear to be working, but checking the images showed that it really didn't. Have you tested that?
I know these lenses do suffer from a bit of coma smearing, but in practical use, I think those Canon 50's produce some very nice looking images, so I'd love to have one again. I just need the Af-C to work. Can you answer that question for me? :-)

Switching to Sony after using Canon for 15 years. It's scary. I'm definitely getting this adapter to keep my sigma art primes though.

Hello, I have the MC-11 and when I updated the firmware to the latest version 1.4 it stopped working with my Canon lenses. Has it happened to someone else? If anyone knows how to get back the firmware version please let me know. Thank you

Yes...Sony still sucks..half baked products. Only few good ones. Thats why competitors like Samsung took over tvs.
