Sigma MC-11 Adapter | Sony A7iii | Canon Lenses

We recently switched from Canon to Sony! While we couldn't replace all our Canon lenses at the same time, we did also purchase the Sigma MC-11 adapter so that we could use all of our Canon lenses on the Sony A7iii.

I've just got my A7 III a few days ago and now the eye AF works now with the Sigma MC 11 adapter with my 24-105.

Check the firmware on both the MC-11 and A7III... you absolutely should have eye AF and face tracking for stills with the latest firmware. There are only a few native Sigma EF lenses that AF-C in video mode with the MC-11 and even then it's not great

Seems also that continuous AF does not work while shooting continuous drive mode (at least on APS-C body). It works with Sigma lenses (as continuous AF in video mode) but does not work with Canon Lenses. 1 photo is in focus and if your subject is moving then all other are out of focus :(. So it's good if you shoot photos but of stationary subjects.

So FF to 2024 and I'm testing A7 iii with MC-11 and 4 Canon lenses and the Steady Shot as well AFC are functioning. The Auto AF is grayed out though.

This adapter is good for Sigma art lenses canon mount but if you have only canon glass then the metabones Mkv is the one for you .

Everyone is complaining about the AF using a Canon lens, but in the product description for the MC-11 it literally says "FOR USE WITH: Use with Sigma Canon mount lens on Sony E-Mount Cameras" the key word being Sigma . For other brand lenses you're better off with Metabones adapter

Thats weird with the stabilization not working on a73.

I can confirm today that mc11 wity sigma art 24mm 1.4 on my a7r2 works just fine on regards to ibis.

Short and sweet - Thanks ! I also just switched from Canon 5D IV to Sony A7R IV and I'm waiting for delivery. I got the G Master FE 24-70mm f/2.8 as a first prime lens and intend to keep my Canon glass (50mm 1.2L and 35mm 1.4 II). I pre-ordered the MC-11 and will try it out. From various MC-11 review is seems that there are frequent updates to the software which could address most of the issues reported. I'll be back early Jan to let you guys know my experience with the MC-11, but i am pretty confident it will work good. PS: Great to see scenes from Lost City Palace !

So here's my question. As you mentioned, it should be fine for stills. I'm 99.9 stills so that's fine. I want to use canon glass because I prefer manual focus with hard stops (most sony lenses don't have hard stops) my biggest concern is the aperture control. How well does the adapter work when changing the f stop and does it still work with f1.2 lenses since sony doesn't have that wide of an aperture on their lenses? Sorry for the long question

So I bought the 70-200 sigma lens for my Sony a7iii and I’m about to buy the Mc-11 adapter, I usually shoot video so will I be able to shoot with AF on? Or would I have to control in manually

I have mc 11 you can have really good af video with sigma 18-35 canon mount I use with a7lll and a6500! and don't loose ibis
