Dr. Carolyn Swenson is a gynecologist and board certified female pelvic medicine and reconstruction physician at Michigan Medicine.

She specializes in the care of pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dr. Swenson received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Utah. In 2015, Dr. Swenson completed a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Swenson has been a clinical scholar through the National Institutes of Health's Women's Reproductive Health Research Career Development Program since 2015. She also serves as a peer-reviewer for numerous national and international journals.

Her research was recently awarded the 2019 Impact Award by the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
