when the first song "22, over s∞n" came out, I was really confused, but then the more I listened to it, the more I would fall in love with its messiness. same goes for the album and album art. it's my 3rd favorite album this year, really enjoy it. :)

Awesome review, once again! I love you how to talk us through your experience of listening to it for the first time. I'm a fan of this album. In contrast to you I like the voice manipulation he uses on this record. 715 Creeks is my favourite song. I find it so striking and beautiful. I agree with you though, this record was certainly a grower. Also, I'm with others here, would love to see a best of 2016 by you.

I've never been a huge fan of bon iver, I've never understood the huge hype around him, but I do adore "skinny love". I've yet to give 22, a million a listen but I guess now I'll have to.

Good album, not groundbreaking or anything like that but still good. I had wished for little more experimentation, something little more out there, instead we got Bon Iver with some glitchy textures. Oh well. Check out Whitney's Light Upon the Lake & Sturgill Simpsons A Sailor's Guide to Earth, both are good alt-country records that came out this year.

Have been a fan of Bon Iver for ages now. All for evolution but this one was a bit too far for me.
Same with the new XX album. Very different.I have gotten into the XX one and now enjoy it but still struggle to listen to this one.Might have to give it another go.Great review mate.
