Heck ya Dax deserves this contract. Dax was a 6th rd pick and was paid only ~$5M over his 1st 4 years. He was franchise tagged in 2020 & was paid $33M. That means over the last 5 years where Dax played GREAT he was paid only ~$7M per year average. He was horribly underpaid. His production was worth $20M to $25M per year. This $164M for 4 years will mean Dax will earn an average over his 9 years in the league ~$22M through 2024. Yes, it results in back pay to Dax for being a far, far better QB than a 6th rd pick is expected to be. Regardless, I’d say Jerry Jones is a winner when he’s paying a top 10 QB an avg $22M when over the next 4 years the going rate is around $35 to $40M+.
