It’s about time SAS said this, real Knicks fans have been screaming for Randle and Thibs to go since last season for these exact reasons. Randle is mentally selfish and only cares about his points and Thibs is horrible at adjustments on defense and offense. Only so much a team can do with those glooming issues.

I appreciate the work Julius Randle has put into his game, I do, I sincerely think he's taken a big leap in his career considering how it started and the expectations (or lack thereof) when he was signed by the Knicks. His basketball IQ and his ability to make the right play in the situation is holding him back considerably. He doubles-down into bad shots. He struggles with even modest double teams. His ball-handling isn't sufficiently to split through multiple defenders yet he'll try anyway. And his apathy on defense when his shot is not falling has consistently allowed teams to rally against the Knicks when they get out to leads. He would greatly benefit from trying to get to the basket more and try to establish friendly calls from the officials by emphasizing the contact he receives at the rim, while spending less time complaining about the calls he doesn't get. He can be a Paul Millsap type of player but he's got to be much smarter with the basketball. Especially when the Knicks cannot make shots. Grimes, Quickly, Hart, and Barrett.. none of these guys are consistent shot makers. You can't have 1 or your 2 best players also in that group. You keep Barrett or Randle, I don't think you can keep both. Miami is exposing the limits of the Knicks' offensive capabilities and poor shooting is contagious. Brunson can't lead the team out of it if Randle is just going to chuck up bad shot after bad shot.

julius randle legit is one of the all-time worst playoff performers and doesn't seem to be bothered by it. plays with such little effort on defense and incredibly turnover prone.

very disappointing for knicks fans to have to see this guy crumble in the postseason again.
