Ancient Coins and Symbolism - Transforming my Coin Collection

This coin is definitely my new favorite in my collection, which is unexpected because it’s nothing like anything I’ve ever collected before.
I’ve always been into classic commemoratives, one dollar bills, old US coins, world silver coins, and anything beautiful and original that brings me interest and passion. However, Ancient coins have brought a new wave of passion for coin collecting to me.
I’m excited to explore ancient coins more and more.
I won’t stop collecting everything else, but ancient coins will definitely be a facet to the hobby that I will be a part of from now on.

great additions! the new syracusan bronze and rhodian drachm are especially stunning… the legend on that one reads ‘of the syracusans’ btw (many city-states used the genitive plural to denote that the coin was issued by their people e.g. athens, where the ethnic ΑΘΕ is an abbreviation of ΑΘΕΝΑΙΩΝ)
