Miriam Hopkins was probably the most versatile Actress in Hollywood. She could and did play just about any character in a variety of very unique and well remembered movies.

About that DR. JEKYLL AND AND MR. HYDE clip at O:47, there is is a snippet missing. I t has not appeared in any of the video releases of this film. I have a 16mm print which shows Hopkins hopping into bed nearly totally naked. I hope somebody posts THAT clip online as I do not have the capability to do so from a 16mm print.

Mae Clarke was Barbara Stanwyck's girlfriend when they were unknown chorines in New York. Stanwyck's first husband Frank Fay made her stop seeing her when they both moved to Hollywood.

The women then were glorious. No tattoos, implants, odd piercings and almost no plastic surgery in general.

One of the ironies is that when Hollywood broke free of the censorship restrictions in the late 1960s, some of these same performers - now old and conservative - got all worked up about how sinful and shocking the movies were becoming.
