In 1975 I was living in a northern suburb of Minneapolis and coming home from work at 2:00 a.m., driving south on our street, a huge fireball went south of me from east to west. It was absolutely amazing to watch and seemed to light up the area. A once in a lifetime event and I felt very privileged to see it.

Just once in my life time I'd love to see such an event in person.
What an amazing catch!

Couldn't you place the info boxes a little more discretely? They are incredibly annoying!

We should have global coverage of day and night sky. Maybe even from space to record and get data from all of these small hits.

I once saw a fireball of roughly this size through an overcast cloud deck. It was green, fast and absolutely enormous. I actually found it later on that online “bolide registry” or whatever they call it. It took me and my brother a second to figure out what it was because the last thing you think you’re EVER going to see through the cloud deck is a meteor.

Maybe it could've been a SpaceX second stage deorbiting?

It's weird to see 'meteors' with pathways like this. Of course, something can approach from any angle but the ones that skim the atmosphere like this must be going extremely fast to not get drawn more towards earth's center.

Size? Speed? Predicted? Danger? TNT equivalent? Hiroshima comparison? What if it hit a large dense city head on?

Most likely a stage of one of the two space craft that was launched over the last two days

Fireball. Strange. They use to be called meteors.
