How to track stolen phone: New CEIR 2023 update rolling out

Lost and Stolen phones in India can be tracked and located using IMEI numbers very easily these days. Location of your stolen or lost phone can be found using the CEIR website rolled out by the government recently.The users will first have to register a police complaint and then use the website to block their IMEI number. After finding the phone, the users can also unblock their IMEI from the same website.
CEIR - Central Electronics Identification Register has been rolled out by the government to help the users in tracking and locating missing, stolen or lost mobile phones in India. It will help you in blocking or unblocking IMEI too.

A stupid requirement, asking for OTP on the lost mobile number. It means I have to buy a new mobile and get a new SIM & then find my lost mobile for which I have already purchased a new mobile (assuming I do not have any old mobile) . Instead it should have used some other method to verify. Already Captch, Adhaar etc is asked. I lost mobile today, and want to lodge complaint today but can not do, because I can not get OTP on same lost mobile number.

Don't use commas (.) or any other symbols other than - and _ . If you want to give comma, use an underscore (_) instead and instead of anything like colon (:) or :-, use a hyphen (-).

TRASH WEBSITE and as always Trash Police Tracking. Mere 2 phone chori hogaye, 1st 6 months pehle, and 2nd last month. Both phones ke case mai maine Police Station jaake Online Lost Report, handwritten letter likha. Then personally CEIR pai jaake dono IMEI block kiye. Dono phones ka koi update nahi. Similar case mere dost ke sath hua jab ye website launch hui thi. Usne bhi pura process kardiya hai and abhi iss baat ko 2 saal hone aaye. Abtak uska phone naa milna matlab parts beche gaye honge. So sad truth is phone milna is impossible kyuki IMEI hi agar chor change kardega then koi fayda nahi iss website ka. And police pai toh bharosa hi mat rakho, unhe politicians ke aage peeche karne se fursat nahi hai. Aadhe chor yoh yehi hai. Ghooskhor. 🙏🏻
