Update: Watch EarthCam's latest September 2021 release here:
"EarthCam Premieres 20 Year 9/11 Anniversary Time-Lapse Film, ‘Never Forgotten’
Documenting two decades of the rescue, recovery and rebuilding at the World Trade Center site"

In recognition of the opening of One World Observatory in New York City, we have released a special edition of our One World Trade Center video. Watch and share this commemorative time-lapse showing the building progress from October 2004 to Memorial Day 2015. Over the past 11 years, EarthCam’s construction cameras captured hundreds of thousands of high definition images and our Creative Team hand-edited the footage to create this exclusive movie.

Produced and Directed by Brian Cury, EarthCam's CEO & Founder, "It's our mission to continue to document this for future generations, so people can see what it took to rebuild these important 16 acres."

Four years ago when my cancer was diagnosed as terminal, I went through all of my saved souvenirs and found one from August 1981. A ticket to the top of the original WTC. Four years later I am still alive (long story), and hoping to get a ticket from this one one day.

I was lucky enough to grow up in nyc where my dad would drive me everyday to school and the tower would slowly build

I've lived in New York for 11 years. I moved here when cranes were still working on One World Trade, but I've gotta say, every time I see that building I feel a little bit of awe. It's a beautiful thing.

Dude is an epitome of patience. Making of timelapse of 11 years isn't as easy as it seems.

Props to the cameraman for flying and standing still for a few years. Give him a raise. Edit: I didn't know somebody else made a comment like this one, so i didn't copy it.

Shoutout to the camera man who stayed there for 11 years just to film the building being built. What a legend.

❤ greetings from coastal Mississippi. I lost friends on 9/11/01. North Tower, Windows On the World and Marriott Hotel. I have been to the 911 Memorial many times. That is Sacred ground. May we Always Remember, Never Forget ❤
