Your sardines turned out great, I love that you used dry brush for the texture. Beautiful! Acrylic gouache is so much fun. I've tried both the Turner and Holbein. They are a bit different but I like them both.

"The last coffee bean" here on YouTube put her turner acryl gouache in one of those airtight containers to make her own "jelly gouache" essentially. I tried it with mine and it worked pretty well. Love your painting as always!!

Love the fish painting! Thank you for sharing the reference link. I had some fun painting a fish based on it (it doesn't look nearly as awesome as yours)

Hey Mia. I’m not planning to get this set, but it is on my Amz list. I’m actually thinking of deleting it but before I do, I wanted to ask you what is the advantage of using acrylic gouache vs. acrylic?? The reason I don’t use acrylics is because they dry so fast (though I haven’t tried a stay wet palette). Seems it’s the same issue with this type of paint. I like the idea of not disturbing layers when I’m using gouache….. but then I might as well use acrylics that I can easily get at Michael’s??? I heard you can even mix acrylics with gouache but I imagine that’s a mess. I’d probably end up with mud.

I’ve never seen anyone paint acrylics using a water brush.
Interesting. Does it help in keep acrylics wet? Is it easier to paint details with it? Is it easier to clean?

All of my brushes get ruined fast when I use them for acrylics. Because acrylics tend to clog up in the ferrule over time and the bristles splay. I find it hard to find a cheap detail brush that can keep its point even after lots of use.

your fish look very shiny 😀
havent used acryl gouache before mostly because I would just end up using normal acrylics so dont see the point spending the money on this paint when it isnt cheap
