First off let me say what a great look at the inside of the Pine Barrens! Congrats on the bike. It looks pretty damn fun. It would probably do a lot better in the campgrounds than my Road Glide lol. Keep practicing and be safe!

I also have a 30 inch inseam, my first bike is a WR250R and even with a low seat it's about 35 inches off the ground, so I've almost never ridden a bike where I could plant both feet on the ground easily but it's fine most of the time, especially once you're used to what you need to do at a stop. Making sure you have your sag set correctly for your weight also makes a huge difference, for example without gear on I'm too light to properly load the suspension and makes the bike even taller. I find turning slowly is pretty easy because if the bike is leaning into the turn if you have to dab your foot it's already closer to the ground anyway.

I just brought one I am 5, 8 and I can flat foot one leg with the other on the pegs, so no need for a lowering kit.
I did find the bike revving a bit high so I put a 16 tooth front sprocket which made the bike fantastic really brought the revs down so it cruises very nice now.

Glad you are having fun out there my man. Have a deposit on one for a shipment coming in January.

500 miles and had mine out yesterday, here in Colorado, and the stock tires on hard pack and soft dirt roads are terrible. No hook up in the rear and the front end does not feel planted. She’s heavy and trying to slow’r down in the soft stuff is nearly impossible. Ordered crash bars and a bash plate immediately and now waiting on a good tire review. On the plus side, it handles the road exceptionally well.

Congratulations bro. That’s a very nice addition to the stable 👍

Would this be crazy as a first bike? I get my license next month. I really dig the adventure category. Also, I'm in Jersey too, maybe ill catch ya in the Barrens some day!

Hoping to switch from my klr to the T7 next year. Luckily the klr is about 14mm taller than the t7 so the height shouldn't be an issue.

I’m with ya mate. Loving my new Ténéré. Also did a video this week (to music though no chat). Enjoyed yours. Nice trails.

Congratulations on the new mule!! Pretty sure the big floppy turn signals are an (unfortunate) obligatory thing for US bikes, it's too bad we can't get onboard with the stock LED setups like they do in other parts of the world. The slow speed handling will come in time, that bike is a completely different experience than what you've been doing the past few years. Really excited to see what adventures it brings for you 🙌

I wouldn't go to the Pine Barrens without bring me some Jersey Devil repellant of the .40-cal variety, just in case you accidentally run across a couple of soldiers of Vinnie Boombatz curing one of their boss' headaches in some abandoned spot, if you know what I mean. ;)
Or just run across the Jersey Devil. How cool would that be? :)
Sand can be rough, for sure! Thankfully, it doesn't hurt as much as hard ground, but going all limbs-akimbo isn't fun, no matter what the landing. :)
And I'm glad you're enjoying the new ride! That's one that will offer lots of fun!
Looks like the Barrens are a great place to learn dirt riding, and offers more & more challenges as you're ready for them.
Very stoked for you! :)

Good stuff here. Glad you made it out 😂 no worries by next year you'll be comfortable on the more challenging stuff. "God bless you asphalt" my off road riding days are over. Great video.

Hey Mate i have been waiting for this video. My a couple of my friends have these bikes and they love them. I was surprised at how tall they are. For me I would need the lowering kit I think as I am not the tallest person around. Certainly looks like fun. Take care.

Don’t lower the bike ride it how it is it will make you a better rider: I clicked the rear shocker to its softest point no problem and I am also 5, 8

Any chance you can bring that T7 up here to CT? I have a lil' test loop I'd like to try it out on... MuAhahahaha 🤣🤣
Welcome to the off-road world👍 and a WHOLE other set of riding skills. Don't get frustrated, get-offs are kind of the name of the game at first...and always, but they will happen less & less.
For the sand, don't chop at the power. Keep your speed and stay on the throttle. The key idea is to "float" the tires, not letting them dive in and out of the sand

Lol! I’ve seen that Jersey Devil out there in the Pines a few times. 👹😝
Great review on this bike Chris. I actually thought about this bike. Don’t think so now though it’s a bit to tall for me right now. I’m a bit of a peanut, lol. Maybe a few more years of experience. I love how humble you stay and actually admit about dumping it 6 times or more, lol. Not many people would admit to that. Have fun with the bike! Looks great and be safe!

I've never been a fan of sand. Unless I'm on a beach, I don't wanna be on it. lol

Been looking for one of these, did you pre-order it? A guy at my local dealer said you probably won't see one in stock till next spring. I keep looking and hoping though.
Used to love taking my old Nissan back through the pines, now I want to do it on two wheels.
