Wow Jacob, wonderful presentation, so very very clear! I've had an ipad Air2 going into "black death" the whole time I had it. Never knew why. It is an auxilliary ipad so don't use it all the time, and often goes into black death! now I see why! so many things using the battery that I never EVER NEVER use or need [since I have ipad pros & use this one for auxilliary reasons. Check the watts of your charger, it’s due to your watts because the watts is the power of your charger, low watts means it’s better if you leave it closed while charging. I checked mine, it’s 5 watts that’s why I’m having slow battery charging.

Just for reference apple batteries usually last about 5 years give or take. If your iPhone or IPad is 4 years old or more consider buying a new battery. They’re only about $50 max.
