I wish i could just sit down and knock out a couple of songs like that. My brother had the music talent in the family but he passed about 25 years ago and unfortunately i didn't pick up his musical talent at all after his death.


I also recall a time maybe 45 years ago i went to get dinner at the cafeteria in the building were i worked in computer operations when one of the brainy systems programmers walked by where i was sitting, to a piano that was nearby and sat down and started to play. He flawlessly played (at least as far as i could tell), four or five classical music pieces and a couple of very nice Christmas songs before checking his watch and heading back to work. I stopped him to ask him how long he had been playing and he told me he was born into a very musical family and started piano lessons when he was about six years old. He continued learning but music to him was more a hobby than a huge love of his like his work. Made me a bit envious because i'd love to be able to play that well but it's just a skill that i've been unable to master at all so now i just love hearing skilled players do their thing and i just close my eyes and enjoy.
