CS:GO | Truth About Quick-Switch Reloading

A simple demonstration showing that quick-switch reloading does not actually decrease the time it takes to reload a weapon.
The recordings are done while using the "Host_timescale" command, which gives you the ability to slow down time ingame. In this case I was using "Host_timescale .1" which make makes the game 10x slower.

Sometimes after doing the ”quick reload trick” and an enemy charged me my character whould just sit there staring and not shooting even if I was done switching back to the weapon long ago. This explains why.

It just looks faster but the time it takes u to actually shoot is the same as when u just do the normal reload

It still does have 3 advantages, and that's why I keep doing it.
1- You get a speed boost by switching to the knife if you are trying to get away.
2- If you have an AWP, then quickswitching will let you get away from the spotting line of sight quicker, and get into position again much faster. Also, it's much better to not get the instant zoom in once it's done reloading the chamber.
3- Your reload makes less noise (This is the most important one for me). If you are in a tight situation with low ammo and need to reload but also need to be stealthy, quickswitching as soon as the magazine enters the weapon will cut the lenght of the sound of the reload in half, and there's less chances that an enemy will hear you doing it.

1 QUESTION no one is asking, we know enemies can hear you reload but not switch.
So does the enemy hear the bolt action at the end(which is also made when for example an AK is switched) after the magazine has been inserted. If no, then if an enemy hiding behind a wall or door may be thinking about charging you because he heard you reloading might not do it because you quckswitched your weapon right after inserting the magazine... I hope you understood my point.

actually quickswithing can be an advantage: imagine this, you are a ct on a but bomb is planted in b and your primary has to reload, when you quickswitch, instead of switching back to your weapon, switch to your knife for you to reach a site faster and have full ONLY use quickswitching when you are in a safe area which has no risk of failing the switch

well if you look at the animations, you're just altering it, which makes it at both speed. on the pistol he still pulls the slide, and on the m4, instead of pushing the bolt catch, he pull the charging bolt.

The people in the comments who say that it is useless to quick reload swtich are WRONG. There are positive aspects like being able to hear steps or gain speed if you are running by switching to your knife.

soryy i didnt know about this but if i Quick-Switch Reload it is has anything to do with recoil?? or it just a same as if not Quick-Switch Reload?

i think when Quick switch reloading, enemies will hear half of reload, so that's the advantage

what about the famas and aug? the mag is considered loaded when you put it in but dont slap it so quickswitching there would be faster yes?

I cant quick switching i have tried a lot off things but he doesnt do the thing that i want. I have my knife on my mouse5 and i set my switching key on t (i have my awp in my hands on game) the only thing the game do is going to my knife and dont switch back to my awp. What can i do for solve the problem?

well the reason you do it is because one is audible to enemies while switching weapons can not

yea but in fast reloading u get the knife boost speed :)
