... and if you "Resume" an activity from three days ago (or just turn on the device without worrying about "activities") you will still be using the barometric pressure of that time. The receiver will faithfully record CHANGES to elevation but they will all be referenced to that old barometric pressure. The ONLY way to get the receiver to do an altimeter calibration (other than doing one manually) is to START an activity. All previous receivers auto-calibrated when you turned them on (and in fact the original manual for this one still said it did too) but now you HAVE to start an activity. I discovered this after starting a hike at -200 metres of elevation :-) I actually END the previous activity when I start a hike - the receiver is set to automatically start a new one when I do that.

I cant get the street names up on the map screen apart from at the top of the screen except main road names ..is this jst the way it is or is there a setting i dnt kniw about..ive tried the zoom options in its cracking me up.

I am a subscriber of OSmaps on the iphone which I have used for quite a while and really good. On a number of occasions my remote hike has been impossible to complete due to the ground level disappearance of the track seen on map. Is is possible to add the OSmaps system to the 66 series and if so how is it done? Great tutorials thanks.

Unclear to me, as the reviewer kept using the description "we", if this review is done by Garmin itself? If yes, then that may be why it does not really get into the details and issues many are finding. Some units freeze, requiring battery removal when certain screens are accessed or exited. Also some are reporting their units power off when exiting the track recording menu. And there have been complaints about Garmin's use of the soft material around the power button which eventually breaks open and does away with the water resistance. Any comments of experience with these issues?
