This is SUCH a punch in the gut to wake up to. I'm not a super baseball fan but I loved Vin, he was such a loveable guy and had great stories whilst commenting the game.

Rest in peace, man.

I still remember back in 1988 when the Dodgers won the world series that year. Listening to his voice over my dad's radio. The Dodgers are WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS! I can still remember him saying IT'S TIME FOR DODGERS BASEBALL!💙🧢⚾ Love you Vinny!

In the 60s I would fall asleep next to my Dad & the hopeful lullaby of baseball & Vin Scully. 🙏⚾💕

He was the inspiration to my name. My dad always had ball games on TV and my mom always heard his name. Except she thought his name was Vince gully. She said she liked it and named me Vince. Circa 1974. 😂😂😂

Seemingly from the moment I was born, I was a Dodger fan and Vinnie was my companion through countless summer days and nights. Players and managers came and went, games won and lost, seasons of triumph and disappointment but the one constant was Vin Scully in the booth. If it was a televised game and Vinnie was doing the radio commentary, we’d turn the TV volume down and the radio volume up: it wasn’t a real Dodger game unless Scully was behind the mic.

He was the last of his kind and it’s a disappointment that there is seemingly no one following in his footsteps. The empty suits staffing broadcasting booths now, offer up clueless analysis mixed with banal, vacuous, commentary that displays a disrespect for the fans and the game. I would rather watch a game in silence than listen to most of them.

Thank you, Vinnie, for 67-years of Dodger baseball and for narrating some of the best memories of my youth. Rest assured, if there are baseball games in heaven, Vin Scully will be doing the play-by-play.

Vin was my favorite since I was ten years old in Brooklyn. He was amazing and was the Dodgers voice. We loved that he was a lip reader and would tell what was being said during umpire vs manager. “Fertilizer!”
