Even though the actual jumpscare is pretty weak imo, the tension and buildup makes up for it and more. I want you to put yourself in this situation:

You've survived how many days/hours of these things trying to kill you, learning how to adapt and fighting for your life, when suddenly your power goes out. You sit in silence and frantically think of what you can do now. Then you hear laughter, almost like the animatronics are mocking you. Then 2 eyes and a distorted lullaby protrude from the darkness to your left. They've found you, he's found you, and there's nothing you can do to stop them anymore. You just have to wait for Freddy to finish his song so he can end you for good. He's almost finished, he's stopped, you're going to But then nothing....You're safe! You're gonna be oka- 0:50

I took this theory from another person. So freddy was programmed to play that music whenever the power was out during the open hours to calm children down.

My favorite jumpscare in the franchise. The anxiety kicks in when you hear Freddy's laugh, and the creepy lullaby helps trigger your fear even harder while you sit there anticipating what will happen next.

Fun Fact: Scott took the sound for his jumpscare from an old Sci-Fi movie of a woman giving birth, and then added a few filters and boom! It is now the original Freddy jumpscare we all know and shit our pants over.

honestly, i’ve seen/played the other fnaf games, but this will stay my fav jumpscare. freddy coming at you is pretty underwhelming, but the IMPECCABLE music and buildup before it just blow me away, wow.
