I managed to use first gen ice tower with rpi3b by sticking 3 thermal pads on cpu - it worked pretty well

Have you tested the 52pi's UPS hats? Or can you recommed one with a safe-shutdown?

Hi Mat, have you tested the temperatures again since the recent firmware update?

I use a AliExpress PWM controller for all fans. And for the led you could replace them with a 4 pin rgb led diode. But some soldering needs to be done then. Use some good thermal paste, and not the flat chewing gum adhesive that comes with the ice tower. This Icetower is very nice, and cool to see.
