FS2020: Flying Using the Keyboard Only?? + My settings and Tips!

Since a number of people have requested that I make a video about Flying with the Keyboard only in MSFS 2020 - 'et Voila'!

This sounds like a nightmare, I really though the mouse would act like some sort of joystick helping you steer the aircraft, that would be much more intuitive and cool. Thanks for making this video, I will definitely be using a controller.

Great advice thanks, top tip for laptop users simply go to control panel - Bluetooth and devices - devices - more devices and printer settings - then simply right click on your laptop and the keyboard settings are in there. It took me a while to figure this out without external keyboard. This is for laptops built in keyboard.

This is my first time playing a flight sim game. I started with a keyboard and mouse and the experience was terrible. Switched to my Xbox 360 controller and the difference was night and day. Much, much easier to fly now.

THANK YOU! I just bought FS 40th after using FS X for 14 years. I always use the keyboard and found that the new keyboard defaults have changed. I have always used the NUM 5 after any pitch change or turning. Right turn: one tap right and then one tap NUM 5 to recenter. I don't play other games and so have no need for controllers. Slew is also different. Tapping nose down moved at a continuous speed, slowly increasing with each tap. Now it's full speed and only while holding the key down. This helps a lot as I have never changed the key assignments before. THANKS

I tried keyboard in MSFS and i couldnt get off the ground. Luckily now i have the Logitech yoke system and rudder pedals + throttle quadrant so now i can fly well

Some beginners are likely to just have keyboard and mouse at the begging so this could be useful for some. Did you get the helicopter update yet? Do a video, I bet there will be ton of views.

Installed this game today... and I have to say the controls are rediculous when you're using mouse and keyboard only. In X-Plane it's at least possible to fly using the mouse clicking in the center of the windscreen. Of course I should get a controller, but ghahh... they COULD have done better :) To answer Karan here, yes I can confirm this is a complete nightmare.

Thanks for this video I have already spent a lot of money and data on this game and although the graphics look spectacular the controls is extensive and troublesome I would have liked a simple version for flying and enjoying all that scenery data 😢

Like all games you just have to deal with it sadly i'm hooking up a xbox controller to my laptop soon its going to be a pain to fly with xbox but once i get the hang of it should be fine

I started using MSFS in the 80s' and ONLY used the keyboard. That's all I know!
