In comics green arrow actually gets old in the Frank Miller's The dark knight story line where bruce wayne and oliver queen and every other superhero becomes old or either dead.
In thay story he actually loses a limb.

I wish they would've done a switcheroo with his version of Tommy instead of what they did with Earth-2 Laurel. Maybe have him escape instead and have a chance to kill our Oliver but he can't so he hides away as to not face judgement of his Oliver. You later find he stayed behind on Earth 1 and you slowly built him from a bad guy to anti-hero to good guy.

It’s funny how with the doppelgängers it’s so easy to try and make them be somebody there not just cause he looks like Tommy even if he turned good he lived a entirely different life and would never be the Tommy that Oliver lost
