Dude, I miss when this show was like this. Oliver is actually defending his actions and not saying he is in the wrong all the time. Dig and Flecitity are having a conversation with Oliver rather than a few quick comments and then storming out. This show used to be fun to watch. The later seasons were just hard to get through.

Felicity... what difference would it make if she made it to the island or not? From Oliver point of view, he thought she died as well. Might as well let the family know she died innocently and not having to fight a Super Soldier.
And John, I get that Oliver should share a bit more about the island, but you of all people should know what it's like to hide a traumatizing experience.

He was so right about the fact that nothing ever good happened during these five years. The people that he knew during those 5 years had died or suffered a fate worse than death, and all those years up until now, he had to carry that. The way Stephen said these were five years where nothing ever good happened, it was some the best acting I have seen, and it hit hard after watching what happened to him during those five years

When he said the second "Five y-ears" and his voice breaks, and he summarizes literally being tortured until presumed dead repeatedly as "nothing good happened" it really showcases Stephens acting abilities and emphasizes Oliver's strength not letting everyone know the shit he went through that would make everyone feel super bad for him.
