Finding Minnesota: The third largest state?

As students head back to school, plenty of history lessons await, including one that many haven’t heard before. John Lauritsen shows us how Minnesota almost became one of the largest states in the union.

Almost all states would have been larger if they had hung onto all of their Territorial status land area. For example, Wisconsin Territory contained much of Minnesota.
