The ONE Thing More Important than Talent in Order to Succeed

In today's video I'm going to talk to you about one of the biggest contributing factors to my success in playing poker professionally and running an online marketing company. I've used this process for years to grow my online business and compete at the highest levels, but it wasn't until I read this article that it became clear to me how impactful it was.

The idea is this: where you choose to play (what market you compete in) is 400% more important than how to play (one's specific skill set, strategy or tactics).

Check out today's video to see how this applies to all facets of life, including poker and business, and how you can use this key strategy to be more successful.

Hello from Greece.
Cool perspective. I always believed that table selection is the most important factor in winning in poker. You proved my point.

sweet! what would you recommend as a 18 year old guy who would like to make a living playing poker. I live in a very small town in Canada, I don't have a lot of expenses so would need to make little money (2000 usd/month) to live. What would you recommend I do? step into online? move to a specific place to sharpen my skills? etc? thanks for taking the time to read and answer :)

Alec I’m a hungry student ready to get out there, but I don’t know how to network or even put my name out there, plus I’m not that financially stable

Alec do you think there will be a second poker boom If poker stars and other sites are allowed to run in the USA regulated? I was 13 when moneymaker took off. Now im double that age. Couldnt play then, can't play now (not because I can't, but I definitely feel that saturation you speak of). I've had some friends that we're on the back end of the rush in the 2000's. They've since left the game for more practical endeavours. I have heard some of the stories of the easy games, and oceans of fish. I even heard a friend of a friend, asked to borrow 60$ on Stars, then paid it back 6 months later after he hit his first million. (don't know the validity, but seemed like an interesting story :D) Hopefully Ill get my chance. I've wanted to at least play big poker while a boom was in effect.

Up vote and I really liked the presentation but did not like the word inefficient. Online poker in the 80 was still way more efficient than a physical poker room. You just had a lot of weak players. Immature market would be a better word. You were able to extract money from weak players very efficiently.
