The court official at the center of the push for a new murder trial for Alex Murdaugh is now accused of plagiarizing part of her book about the trial.

Sadly, it's starting to look like Alex will get a new trial. If, so "Miss Becky" is solely responsible for playing into the Defense's hand. I cannot imagine what the Prosecution team is thinking about her lapse of judgement as they have put hundreds of hours into preparing and trying this sorted case. As someone with seventeen years working in the legal field, she definitely knew her actions were unethical and downright illegal. Her ego must have gotten the best of her and she considered herself above reproach. Her admission of plagiarism has sealed the fact that charges are in the near future along with a civil suit... One by one, all of her allies have dropped out of sight, even her co-author has jumped ship. When will she be fired from her position as Clerk of Court? Her credibility cannot be repaired at this point.

Dishonesty seems to really come out when there is an opportunity. People who work in the courts don't have to be honest either? It's o.k., the justice system is on her side... she's kinda one of them.
