Between May and December of 1977 Neil Young recored a Country rooted album called 'Oceanside Countryside'. Today it has been released as part of his archival series. Though the recordings are unique a lot of the songs like 'Dance, Dance, Dance' and 'Pocahontas' have been used later on in different versions for different albums. But what does this new 2025 archival release sound like?

Thanks for posting :). I still have to pick up the vinyl from my local record store, but heard it on YT. Even though if I had high hopes, it even surpassed it. This could be a classic back then, I would rate this higher than Comes a Time and American Stars 'n Bars. I wonder if this version of 'Lost in Space' is different compared to the Hawks and Doves version. The stripped down Sail Away was a highlight indeed :) I have a hench Pocahontas has another mix aswell. Anyway, I'm glad to have this. Hopefully we'll see Time Fades Away/Last Dance (studio album) aswell. I also heard that Homefires is coming. - Marjet

I have you right. Neil's voice & guitar tone is demonstrably 1970s Neil. His best solo albums are from that decade.

My favourite 'new' release from him for a while. He can be so hit & miss. Definitely a hit this one.
