The reason Camilla’s father put a fake engagement announcement in the paper was to bring Andrew Parker Bowles up to scratch, which is a very, very old fashioned word because he was in no rush to propose if he ever meant to. I don’t imagine it made for a great relationship with his father in law but to deny it would’ve been SCANDALOUS, imagine the Countess of Granthem’s face to get the idea 😱Camilla was seeing both Charles and Parker Bowles and Andrew was seeing Camilla, Anne and who knows who else.
