It’s about intentionally using color and being mindful of how it affects them!
First off I just want to say that the colors of your house is probably not going to make or break your child. It’s not going to change their life that much to be honest! But if you are looking to make your home Environment more intentional then you may want to consider this!
When too much bright and bold colors are used it can overstimulate children, disrupt their concentration and even distract them from learning.
On the other hand using no colors at all might not stimulate their brain enough.
That’s why montessori classrooms typically have neutral walls, and furniture as to not overstimulate the child. But they use bright colored materials (toys) because thats what you want the child to be drawn to. You want the child to engage with the learning materials not the walls 😂
Montessori classrooms do display tasteful and minimal art at the child’s eye level to create beauty and add some warmth to the room.
I’m not saying you need to go and redo your child’s room or play room. Maybe just go through and evaluate the value each item in the room brings. Does it serve a purpose, is it intentional? If not then it’s probably not needed and best to keep things minimal.
