Who is cooking this Indian food? Lacking spice should never be a complaint towards Indian food.

9:02 This is a fundamental difference between Indian food and Mexican (as explained by a Mexican chef working in India for a bit)... in India we caramelise our onions a lot more than they do in equivalent Mexican preperations, hence there is a hint of sweetness discernable to a Mexican.
Further, while we also use Chili heat and Sour a lot, both are usually balanced and with the onion sweet. In Mexican cuisine, dishes are often sourness or chili heat forward. Fine margins to keep in mind when you're used to one flavour profile and trying to cook authentically in the other.

I think usually the spices of the Indian dishes are toned down in the west but for Mexicans you can hire an Indian chef and have some real and authentic food. Mexicans and Indians really have a palatte for spices so it would be interesting to watch.

I think the eggplant was not grilled enough when you grill eggplant over a flame directly it gives a amazing smoky flavour and bagan ka bharta mixed with green chillies makes it yum

Such a creative concept - just deciding what curries could make a taco takes a lot of creativity.

And yay, indian food gets a thumbs up with taco 😊 (at least a couple of them)

Love the Mexican dads. 😊

I would think any of them are great with flour tortillas. A flour tortilla is similar to Indian breads, like chapatis or roti.

Did you know that in India, or certain parts of India, we have almost the exact same thing as pico de gallo? It's made with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, green chilis, and cucumber. We use it as a topping just like PDG. There are so many similarities between Indian and Mexican foods: tandoori and achiote, tortillas and roti, moles and curries, salsas and chutneys...two great cuisines!

As a Canadian the title was slightly confusing 😂. In Canada an ‘Indian taco’ is a piece of bannock(fry bread), loaded up with taco toppings. It’s our indigenous native and Métis/fusion dish 😃

As an Indian I know that those dishes were not cooked correctly because of the "sweetness" they kept mentioning and the Baingan Bharta or Mashed Eggplant just looked horrible to me. I hope these guys get to taste authentic Indian food by making a trip to India sometime...they surely wouldn't miss spicy here 😂😂

Cook for a living for 25 years. I will say that Greek and Mexican is a great fusion combination. I made tacos with Chipotle and Cumin seasoned lamb, poblanos and grilled onions with feta cheese, and squeeze of lime.

there is no food like street tacos, it's simply the best street food in the world. I have been to inner parts of mexico and the food I had there was simply out of the world.

as an indian I gotta agree tortilla would be too dry to go with bharta
it either needs to be pan fried with butter or even better clarified butter
or has to be prepared like the tortillas of Beria tacos

I love that they had onions and cilantro for the tacos because as an American that was used to lettuce tomatoes etc, ever since I tried, cilantro and onions only are my go to toppings for tacos plus hot sauce usually Tapatio or Cholula 😋

Indian and mexican food is quite alike. We both enjoy spicy food, our breads and seasonings. Meats too. Lotta similarities.
