Don't understimate the falloff range difference between the standard and the Prime. Although the Prime has identifical base damage and only a bit more crit chance, status chance and reload speed, the falloff range makes it deal around 30% more damage at longer distances.

At 30m range:
Normal: 66% damage (33% damage reduction)
Prime: 100% damage

34m range:
Normal: 50% damage
Prime: 93% damage

Normal Baza loses 4.16% damage for every meter past 22m, reaching 50% at 34m. Prime loses 1.66% damage for every meter past 30m, reaching 50% at 60%.

Yes the Baza prime is really one of my favorite primary weapons to use it's even in my top 5 weapons. There should be no reason to not have the Baza prime in your inventory there just isn't. It's just really an amazing versatile weapon. A powerful SMG I would say.

I still find it funny to this day that I got a riven for this weapon a week before Ivara Prime released and I still have the riven now and it's just disgusting even against the grineer exo units in railjack

Believe it or not DE nerfing melee ain't gonna fix your games imbalanced weapon viability. If they nerf melee acolytes will become unkillable, steel path will be hard to go past half an hour, etc.
