According to William I. Robinson, the COVID pandemic has further intensified the structural crisis of global capitalism and has caused numerous uprisings and revolts around the world, which global elites are trying to suppress via militarization, police repression, and surveillance. Robinson joins Greg Wilpert on theAnalysis.news.

Very important books - thanks for interviewing Mr. Robinson. Sadly, too few are listening.

when ppl say that hypercapitalism is UNSUSTAINABLE they forget that that word means something literal and whether we destroy it or it destroys itself, it CANNOT BE SUSTAINED 🔮

The underlying problem here is that conspicuous consumption is unsustainable.

Excellent application of theory and analysis to the terribly confusing predicament the world is in right now. I am in total agreement with Mr. Robinson's sense of urgency.

Sadly, the mainstream is communicating fairy tales in books like "The Fourth Turning", which presents all forms of conflict and economics as occurrences that come and go like the seasons. No human causes, no human interventions possible.

Big thumbs up!! Super informative. I remember now really enjoying a “This Is Hell” interview with Dr. Robinson on the Global Security State topic back in 2019 I believe. Great to be reminded of him here.

You won't get this on mainstream media.

All excellent observations.

"Capital-ism" is self-defining by the belief in unsubstantiated.., (selfish individualism of Ponzi schemes), ..financial "authority", not in the demand driven utilitarian value in exchange of essential goods and services.

We don't want to throw the Capital Management of Democratic Governance, (metastable society) baby, out with the political bathwater.

You know ... all this talk about computers, tech, AI, etc ... really what it is, is the ability to account for every individual person to the smallest detail. That is a huge political power. If someone is in a vantage point to see anyone's total data they can manipulate them any way they want. This is the thing that is different about our age ... it's about the effects on people in overwhelmingly powerful political ways.

This gentleman does not speak slowly and clear enough or loud enough.
His ideas are fascinating.
I suppose I will have to get his books.

Global Capitalism IS a system. It is a sparse system with holes in it, but less holes as time goes by and the world gets smaller and more networked.

Digital tech used as a means of repression doesn't get the attention it deserves.

This is a very good video. It gives people the tools to analyze the economic/political system, and develop since idea of what is needed to fix the system.

When he says that profit margins in the productive economy are shrinking, I am not sure that is really true. What about housing, and health care, and education ... all are getting super-expensive because whole classes of people are being tossed out of the system. He talks about the speculative financial markets I think ... but no one has access to those markets but a rarified elite, and access to the stock market does automatically make people rich. They say index funds are the best way to invest, and no private speculators can consistently beat them and most don't even match them. So, why not throw the markets open to all ... stop sucking away money through gambling ... and cheating, and have all investment be by voting.?

Wondering: Could DiEM25 be an organisation to challenge corporate power at the transnational level, in Europe?

Seems like the comments pertain to a different video. What happened!?

Why is this considered "fantasy art" instead of art nouveau?

I don't see how you can radically restructure capitalism's organization when the system is in the middle of failing or even succeeding but in a marginal way ... there is nothing radical that is even going to happen in a controlled way to manage a collapse because if that could be done we would not be having the collapse. European history can be looked at as human populations exploring nature while growing and warring and until nature collapses. Then in the time it takes to grow back the big trees and renew the land, or find new lands to exploit this same unstable system will come back because it is driven by undisciplined human nature, a kind of psychopathic system run undemocratically by a group of toxic elitists who each cycle fill in a bit more of their toxic technology of control and domination, until the limiting assymptote or total global collapse of nature to the point it cannot refresh itself.
