I was 17 years old the last time Joni appeared at the Newport Folk Festival in 1969. I was 21 when I watched her rehearse at Philharmonic Hall, Lincoln Center, where I was working my way through college. Oceans have passed under the bridge since then, but Joni, like fine wine, has grown deeper, and richer, and truer with age. She was a sky goddess then, she is an earth goddess now. I have been feeling my age lately, but she has inspired me to overcome these inevitable challenges with grace, and dignity. Thank you for a lifetime of truth and love!
