Oh man, this channel is right up my alley. I love monitors and I absolutely HATE that pretty much nobody cares too much about them. I have the exact same problem with speakers on guitar amps, and tires on cars. They are literally the thing making the image that our computer can produce. No reason to have a 3090 if you can't see the nuances of the images.

Mate, as someone new to PC gaming I cannot stress enough how useful/helpful your work is on monitors. There are 2 areas of hardware that need complete de-mystifying. 1 is fans and the other is, of course, monitors. Do you know how difficult it is to find the right monitor? It's bloody impossible. I quickly realised that my £300 (GBP) wasn't going to get a suitable monitor for my 3080. So I pushed my budget up to £500. Still, every single monitor has a drawback. And without actually being able to try it before you buy it, it's so difficult to say if the drawbacks out-weigh the advantages or not. So I decided "okay, well let's save up for a few months and increase the budget to like £800-£1000, maybe I can get a C1?"

*Reads about burn-in issues*

F*** that!! 1k on a TV that might burn-in within a few months if you accidentally use it incorrectly? WTF. We literally cannot win!

Then your channel(s) came down from the heavens in a dream and I heard "Dizzy, do not fear my friend. For I have dozens of videos on the Tube of You, watch and thee shall see the light"

So I've binged quite a few videos recently and you really have helped me plan the best options. I basically decided I was going to stick with my AOC 24G2U. If the Odyssey G7 comes down in price I will buy that for single player games and use the AOC for competitive. This seems like the best option without spending 1k on an alienware or C1 that will burn within 2 years.

Being 2022 and some of us are carrying a 4k screen with 120Hz refresh in their pocket, I assumed consumer monitor technology would maybe have something that could do it all? How wrong I was. Different monitors for different use cases seems to be the way to go for me right now.

Without your channel I likely would have bought something with absolute garbage performance or washed out colours. There was so much I didn't know to consider when buying a good panel. Thank you very much!

The biggest issue with the Alienware AW3423DW is Dell's inability to deliver it, if I try to buy one right now (25th June), the expected delivery date is 2nd November in the UK, reason that I ended up buying the odyssey G7.

Just bought the aoc 24g2 on your recommendation and it's great, wouldn't have a clue what to look for otherwise.

As an absolute rookie in anything monitor related, I'd love a video exploring the monitor 'vocabulary', explaining what every term means, how they relate to each other and showing examples. I understand that there would be enough subject matter to fill hours of video, but even a longer video or video series would be something I'd absolutely watch!

The X27q is really cheap in the UK as well. It's £199 direct from HP here while the 27GP850 and Dell S2721DGFA are both still around the £270-£300 mark

I just wanted to say how fortunate we in the US are that you guys at Hardware Unboxed and Monitors Unboxed make your content primarily for us. You guys do such a great job and I love the content you put out. I got my 1440p monitor based on your suggestions and I absolutely love it. Please keep up the great work, I can't get enough!

Tim, HP changed the panel on the x27q from LG to BOE very sneakily. Can you address this?

I am from Europe, to be more precise, from Slovakia and the HP X27q is here available also under 300$. It costs just above 260€ which is around 270$. I think it's a great buy for this price.

The M27Q X has worked out great for me. Thanks for the recommendation!

Bought an M27q based on one of your reviews. Because of this channel and Gamers Nexus I was able to get exactly what I wanted and needed. Props to you both!

The X27Q is built with both LG and BOE panels. They were recently offered as an "Amazon Treasure Truck" deal for $170 and people reported receiving both types of panels. I received a BOE panel with my order but since it was less than $190 shipped, I decided to keep mine.

Great video, Tim. A little personal content from the main monitor reviewer of the HUB duo is always welcome. I would totally be into a "favorite monitors of 2022" video at the end of the year. Cheers.

I recently brought an LG C2 42" OLED TV and it is the thing I've brought in years. All games are just amazing now. I thought that 42 inches would be too big, but nope, its bloody perfect. For me anyway.
Finely getting to play games in true HDR is so good. Highly, HIGHLY recommend one.

Great to see the new channel. In my opinion a PC should be built primarily around what monitor you want to use. Every other piece of hardware should be based on taking full advantage of the monitor, without wasting money by exceeding its limitations.

Thank you for all this work Tim. I might buy a monitor once every 10 years but boy when I'm next ready to buy after my next promotion, just know this work you've done will help me and my loved ones out immensely!

I'm glad to see the X27q getting highlighted again. Makes me glad i sprung for it, especially for the $180 I paid for it.

Take the Alienware AW3423DW and make it into a 32" 4K monitor (this is exactly what I have been waiting for) - A proper HDR monitor without blooming with G-sync Ultimate with all the bells and whistles. I thought the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 might have been this monitor but there is no telling what blooming will be like with the 1196 mini-LED zones and if the Freesync Premium Pro will play nicely with G-sync especially with HDR content. It's a shame there is always a sacrifice to make when buying the ideal 4K monitor. The next couple of years are finally looking really good! Cant wait for more of your reviews Tim thanks!

I'm impressed with how well Gigabyte's offerings perform given how new they are to the space. I'm using a G27Q, 1440p 144z, and it's been a great monitor for an excellent price.
