8 English Body Idioms You Should Use in Your English Conversation

Recently a friend told me it was time for me to let my hair down. She definitely wasn’t talking about a new hairstyle! So what do you think she meant? This is actually one of my favorite English body idioms. And when my friend said it, I immediately wanted to share it with you.

Plus, I haven’t done a lesson on English idioms for over a year.

So in today’s lesson, I’ll share 8 English idioms that focus on different parts of the body. You’ll learn exactly what those idioms mean, how to use them with examples, and get practice.

Don’t worry—you’ll also find out what it really means to let down your hair.

After you review the video lesson, be sure to check out the practice questions I have for you below.

Thank you very much for these lessons!
There is a difference between being able to communicate what you want and being understood. and expressing precisely your feelings.
The latter is hard, and your lessons help me.

Awsome...this was the first board meeting of the project and I was not prepared and got cold feet that day....soon after the meeting got over I went to meet my BFF over a lunch as I wanted to get something off my chest...she was very supportive and told me do not feel defwtaed and you have got this as she got my back...I was encouraged ...she even planned scuba diving for me so that I can let down my hair after being worn out from office work

To get cold feet = to get nevous or anxious before an event
To get something off the chest = to tell someone something that he/she may not like
To have a chip on the shoulder = be angry
To pull someone's leg = to tease
To let down one's hair = to relax
To be a pain in the neck = an annoying situation
To get out of someone's hair = to not bother
To rub elbows with = to spend time with people or a person one normally don't spend time with
