I know it's strange but one of the things I love about really old comic books is checking out the adverts and seeing what was popular way back when. 
I never bought "new" comic books, there was an antique store round the corner from my house that had 2 big boxes full of comics and me and a couple of friends would save up all the change we had to go round there.
